Remote River Explorer
Join us on a unique adventure you’ll remember for a lifetime.
We start our journey in Tofino where we load our gear into a
De Havilland Beaver Float Plane. We then fly approximately 30
minutes across the vast waterways of inner Clayoquot Sound,
with breathtaking views of the open Pacific and coastal mountains.
We often have the bonus of viewing Grey Whales and Black Bears
from our aerial vantage point, enroute to our destination; a
pristine mountain lake situated in an untouched Rainforest valley.
After loading our 14 ft. NRS Expedition Series Raft with all
Fishing and Camp gear, we start the next leg of our journey,
as we drift down the outlet stream from the beautiful mountain
lake. We immediately start fishing, with the first pool often
holding numerous Cutthroat Trout and Steelhead.
After fishing our way downstream for the day, we arrive at our
secluded river camp, nestled below the canopy of giant Cedar
and Spruce trees. This comfortable tent camp is situated along
some of the most productive waters on the river, where the elated
outburst “fish on!” is often heard as your guide
prepares hearty meals and stokes the welcoming campfire.
On the last day of the excursion, we often fish the “camp
water” in the morning. We then break camp to start the
last leg of our journey, fishing our way downstream to the tidal
waters of Clayoquot Sound, where the float plane awaits to transport
us back to Tofino. As this pristine river meanders past the
majestic old growth forest, the numerous pools, riffles and
slots create a diversity of fishable waters for both fly and
gear.
These 100% catch and release excursions often end with exuberant
guests stating that the “fish were a bonus”.
