Tofino Fishing Team Profiles

The newest member of the Clayoquot Ventures team, Leon is delighted to have an opportunity to fish the waters of Tofino. He brings a wealth of fishing and guiding experience from his eight seasons at fishing lodges in Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) and three seasons on the central B.C. coast. 

Born in New Zealand, Leon grew up in Victoria on Vancouver Island and displayed an early affinity for the water.  In addition to his fishing adventures, he is a dedicated surfer who has followed the waves to Australia, California, Costa Rica, Hawaii, New Zealand, Indonesia and Africa, and now to Tofino.  As much as he loves his time on and in the water, Leon equally values the opportunities he has had to share experiences with people from different cultures and all walks of life.

In 2011, Leon, his wife Jen, son Kai, and dog Thor, bid farewell to the city of Victoria and relocated to Tofino.  He is excited about showing guests of Clayoquot Ventures the natural wonders that brought them to this special place while catching some great fish!
