Saltwater Fishing Guide
Required credentials:
-
Marine Emergency Duties A3 required. (MED - A3)
-
Small Vessel Operators Proficiency (SVOP)
-
Restricted VHF Operators Certificate –Marine (ROC-M)
-
Marine Basic First Aid (MBFA)
Other Skills and Qualification:
-
Excellent communicator, knowledgeable naturalist, patient, with a strong commitment to exceeding guests’ expectations

Proven time management skills, organized, with a common sense approach

Work effectively with others, be a self-starter with an understanding of vessel mechanics, electronics, coastal marine environments, weather and tides
-
Knowledgeable and professional with regards to boat handling, all aspects of saltwater fishing techniques as well as fish processing
-
Understand and abide by Department of Fisheries and Ocean Regulations, Transport Canada Regulations and Coast Guard regulations
-
Safe operation, cleaning and maintenance of vessel, equipment, dock and fish cleaning areas with a priority to ensuring a first class appearance and functionality of the vessel and equipment
Other details: 20 - 70+ hours a week. Rate of pay based on experience. Bonus remuneration may be paid based on individual employee’s performance and achievement of fulfilling responsibilities and guest feedback. Subsidized housing may be available. Full job description available upon request.
Tackle Store Clerk/Fishing Charter Reservation Agent
Skills and Qualifications:

Strong commitment to exceeding guests' expectations

Clerical/retail or similar experience preferred

Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and databasing software

Self-starter, can work with minimum supervisor and with others, is publicly presentable and personable, bondable, have proven communications and problem solving skills

Knowledge of BC’s sportfishing industry (species, regulations, tackle etc)
Other details: 20- 40 hours a week. Wage: based on experience. Bonus remuneration may be paid based on individual employee’s performance and achievement of fulfilling responsibilities and customer feedback. Subsidized housing may be available. This position is offered as seasonal part time however it could be expanded to seasonal full time if applicant has appropriate skills to fulfill other positions currently available.
